  1. The group that we raised funds for (MBEAN) has been mentioned in the official report by the UN Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs. In the map through this link, you will see MBEAN in the legend box to the left of 10 o'clock position of smaller in-set map in the right lower quadrant . It is probably the only civic volunteer group on the map! http://www.reliefweb.int/rw/fullMaps_Sa.nsf/luFullMap/51589E198BAFF300C125748F002A3DC3/$File/ocha_SHL_mmr080721.pdf?OpenElement
  2. Thanks Supermax. I will try to continue doing what I can.
  3. Thanks Nocturnal. What you said was exactly what I thought which made me compelled to do something rather than moaning and groaning about how things are not working there. Luckily, I didn't have any personal casualties in the disaster and relief work is taking shape despite many hurdles. It could be better but it could have been much worse without the help coming from outside the country !!!
  4. Thanks Freud It is the least that I could do for my folks back home.
  5. Some people have the time, courage and commitment to do such a thing ....Admiration to him! http://justgiving.com/barefeetforburma
  6. now that seems like a good outcome for the event... well done ! Thanks Sagir. It was worth the effort
  7. The event on Sunday went very well. Atmosphere was really great and we raised £2,232 in total. I would like to thank those colleagues from QEPH who made the effort to come and support our good cause.
  8. there have been updates on their current/ recent activities. http://report.burmarelief.org/
  9. Thanks Sagir. I just fuelled the spark of inspiration in others. I'm not sure how many of Super-egoers would show up that day. Any comments/ responses, guys? Of course, I'll send a feedback here.
  10. If anybody wanted to contribute in kind i.e. sending stuff for sales, pls contact me ASAP.
  11. There will be a display of pictures and videos from the fields and guests will be able to talk to some of the volunteers who actually went and worked there in the immediate aftermath of the cyclone. I bet not many other fundraising events/ NGOs can organise such an opportunity. Do come along and spend a fun and purposeful Sunday afternoon with us!
  12. For those who preferred donating directly to the group: http://burmarelief.org/Donate.aspx

  14. No, I'm not, at least at present : Why? hey mee, nothing really, was jus being curious. also thought if associated with other charities, volunteering work at the site gets easier, but u guys seem to be doing a great work! I'm not part of the group. Only know them very well and support them. So I should not take the credit for the work they're doing there but thanks, on their behalf I believe they have got a good working partnership with some other international and national NGOs.
