  1. they will not have to pay inheritence tax as long as they are not bringing that money to UK. if somebody brings that money to UK ideally as per joint agreement of taxation between INdia and Uk (Different for different countries) when the assets be liquified the person has to pay around 30 percent tax to Indian government and if the person is a high tax paying earner they will have to pay the remaining 10 percent tax to Uk government. it does apply to all income and assets. I hope it make some sense. No immunity is on the basis of having the passport........it is on the basis of status in the citizen country i.e. Diplomat stauts has some immunity.
  2. if you have an accountant for managing limited company account, you can ask for their help. Sadly HMRC can ask retrospectively!! and if paid wrongly you have to payback. it applied in fact both ways...if they have charged you extra tax you can also claim for previous years.
  3. St4 should be free from 2011 onwards, apart from those post where run through have not passed and are in grace period even though those ST4 will be advertised as LAT. so I guess there will be many more ST4 than last year...... However someone who is doing Ct3 and waiting to apply for ST4 , try to go through the ST4 application and look for scoring criteria and use time to prepare for a competitive application. Try to do a flexible job, may be locum, as there is no scoring for LAT ST4 experience or no negative score for locum post, or SAS post....there is scoring for the extra work one has done in the post....like audit cycle completion, posters, papers, innovative work etc.... And remember you just need one post and there will be several posts
  4. Is it MRCPsych. ....?? which you have passed or something different (MRPscych)... Yes you can apply for ST4-6 rotation, it is national recruitment...refer to www.rcpsych.ac.uk for details of dates; I think the next round is in feb2011...salaries are equivalent to your current salary in Ireland .... Getting consultant job is vey competitive.....pg teaching diploma will not add anything to your salary but get you extra points in the application form... I hope it is of some use
  5. If there are no posts how can you apply? But overall in the application and interview process LAT or intact any current job does not make a difference. If you are not in fixed job I guess that's the best situation do locums and remain flexible and apply for ST4...hopefully u will get what you want.
  6. Nice one ...... I enjoyed the question and answers.....
  7. interestingly it will have an option to add sim card (???) and also expandable memory using micro SD card..........but again its lauch has been delayed until NOvember 2010 now
  8. Is this the future technology or another short term dream in technology market? Is this the solution from hanging and slow windows based OS or over priced Apple? I think this will have some substantiate market value!!!! What does other think! Refer: http://www.notionink.in/ Seems very robust configuration and I have heard the best configuration will be less than the cheapest i-pad and it is due to launch in USA pretty soon and technology market is really excited about it>>>>>>>>>>>>>LET's WAIT and WATCH {for the first time I am really interested in a technology based website which ends with 'dot IN' (Indian Website)------}
  9. What is MRCpsych..............I guess it is a way towards success for most of us.........Not for all of us.............And who are the world’s most successful people?????? None of them are MRCpsych holders (Depending on definition of success, which is different for different people- so ‘none’ in my thinking)......I think to succeed in life or not lies in us and not in our degrees..........For those who does not know how to be successful in life, have to do something and getting MRCpsych is one of those things (Again not for all of us)……In other words there are other ways to be successful..... Think big...Think different...... Just a Thought!
  10. I think there are some key issues and understanding of your role in this scenario: 1) assess- any mental illness? 2) capacity to make this decision?- recommendation based on assessment 3) and your plan should be based on these 2 assessments and it should not include the decision for recanalisation. Procedure decision should be made by the one offering it. Involve the partner for collateral information. Get information from social services, involve ur team social worker and psychologist. Discuss with your consultant.
  11. one of my friend had a similar incidence when his son did the same heroic act..........he made a phone call to RC and they sent him another certificate...........just speak to the college, I am sure you can get the duplicate.
  12. there is no such place in south west london from where you can happily drive to and from work. Look for the place which is nice to live....Its always busy on the roads durring the peak time. Nice places to live are Wandsworth, Balham, Clapham, Sutton et depends on your needs....you can always ask for a family accomodation in Springfield hospital in Tooting.....all the best
  13. was there any other question asked?
  14. CONGRATS!!! Well done!! All set to be consultant? Guess the forum meet's on you then, hehe! Yeah sure, would be good seeing you again. Hello Wetrain i understand from your posts that you have been doing locums for some time and recently got ST 4, i passed my exam now and wanting to do a private job or locums for a short time but people say it would not be good for your CV and difficult to get ST4 so whats your experience & opinion in this I completely agree with wetrain; I did the same and hard work paid in the end. I did everything possible to build my CV and baseline is if ur CV is strong, no one can question you in the interviews. I have got ST4 and noone asked me whether my job is locum or substantiate except in the application form. And there is no score for kind of job you are doing in the selection process , so do what you feel most comfortable for you. And if you work hard mostly consultants appraise that positively. I would say do locums but make sure you build your CV....

Applied for ST4 reluctantly as there were no jobs near Manchester, gave the best interview ever I think if ur in educationally approved SG training scheme like in Leeds or in a decent substantiative job, its easier to get ST post. If you want to do locum, make it sure you do a LOT of CV stuff, i hv done a Dip in Addictions, 2 poster presentation internationally, 360 degree appraisal, 3 audits and completing the loop, regular annual appraisal, Teaching at Nursing college and other stuff in last 3 yrs. Most important is to work as a VERY Good locum and work really hard, take on lot of responsibilities so that your references are Fantastic....then you will be fine. Cheers
