  1. Can't believe this thread is still going... Be seeing you
  2. Thanks ! I'm quite pleased with it. Went on a great photo day in February to learn how to use off-camera lighting (with models) Number 6
  3. Incidentally a 'special edition' of Secret of Monkey Island (with 're-imagined graphics' is now out on steam for a little less than a tenner Number 6
  4. Hehe - anyone interested in the original ? (Can't guarantee it works !) Be seeing you Number 6
  5. Hi guys, Been absent for a while but currently playing with: 1. Far Cry 2 on the PC - great looking, nice open structure but a little repetitive 2. Few odd things on the Wii (OK, I 'fess I got a console, not for me honest, for my boy !) - Tiger Woods, Family Ski, Lego Star Wars (heh-hehe !) 3. New Panasonic-LX3. Thought it was time to give a point-and-click a go, and has a hotshoe for strobist-style off camera lighting ! 4. World of Goo Happy New Year, Number 6
  6. Just finished Just Cause (Free, thanks PA !) - quite nice visuals, absurd plot and acting, silly stunts but a couple of memorable moments (just about worth the time it took to play it, but only just at times !)... ... now onto XIII (also free, thanks again PA) - again very silly (Bourne-style) cliched plot so far but quite like the comic book look. Be seeing you
  7. Anyone going to be at the Royal College conference in London, 1-4th July ?
  8. Sounds pretty good - I played demos of them both when they came out. Just Cause was a little too arcade-y for me to buy (and a bit time limited, reminded me of racing games !) and XIII was quite stylish but a little lacking in substance. I'm not sure either if they'll run on Vista. Also Savapoint get some pretty awful reviews on the net in terms of actually being able to deliver anything... ... still for free (£2.99) it's hard to argue with giving it a go ! Thanks PA. All fairness to Savapoint - they both arrived today. XIII fully boxed and sealed, Just Cause in plastic sleeve (no box/instructions). Now I've got to see if they work with Vista. On a different note... can't believe that Dustin the Turkey was knocked out in the semi-final ! A sad day for Europe. Be seeing you

(I've now bought a new internet router and all my Steam problems have largely been resolved, so I'm spending more time on TF2 and Red October now !)
  10. Let's just hope that it's better than Crysis :'( which was a bit of a disappointment. And, I have to say, the lovely graphics and story of Bioshock was let down by a tendency to become a FPS (and the resurrect aspect encouraged charging repeatedly at an enemy until it was finished).
  11. Damn, then I'm going to have to confess to my other problem... I can get away (just about) with playing games on the PC in the corner of the study - but there's no way I'm going to be able to get a console into the living room... even if it does have Blu-Ray ! Just read the IGN review of GTA-IV... makes me weep (10s all round, beautiful pictures etc. etc.)
  12. Yes indeed and definitely not - sorry, can't get used to those funny little joystick things - give me a mouse and keyboard any day ! Be seeing you
  13. indeed.. checked out our local Blockbusters, ASDA and couple of other stores as well. they too were out of it ! then checked up the websites.. and none available there.. everyone is out of stock No, that's not what I meant ! (Try again !!)
  14. I hear my name ?? Sorry guys - been too busy (well that and a late skiing holiday) recently but found a moment just now. Bit sad about GTA IV isn't it ? Still, I'm currently occupying myself with some little semi-indie strategy games like Panzer Command Be seeing you (Incidentally, anyone going to be at the Royal College conference ?)
  15. Ahhh, the Village - just wait for the last episode !
