  1. Hi everyone, I'm currently looking at reasons why trainees find it difficult to pass paper 1 - I'm hoping to target these topics to help current trainees. I'd be really grateful if you could briefly list topics which you found particularly tricky in paper 1? I'm particularly interested in replies from those that have been unsuccessful in Paper 1 before now. Thanks for your help!
  2. Hi everyone, I'm currently looking at reasons why trainees find it difficult to pass paper 2 - I'm hoping to target these topics to help current trainees. I'd be really grateful if you could briefly list topics which you found particularly tricky in paper 2? I'm particularly interested in replies from those that have been unsuccessful in Paper 1 or 2 before now. Thanks for your help!
  3. It's 40%. And no, you don't do 1st on-calls.
  4. I contacted the ST4 organisers directly at Barts and the London as I got fed up of waiting. They thought that the deanery would be providing our specific job allocations! Anyway they said that I'd be starting on Jan 5th. Not sure if this is applicable to everybody - would advise contacting local rotation organisers directly if you can!
  5. To be honest I wouldn't take that as the gospel truth - they said exactly the same for this year and look what happened. It's a case of wait and see as it appears that the various deaneries have little planning ability
  6. Anybody else get GA in Barts and the London?
  7. I'm selling the following books as I don't need them anymore - they're useful for all 3 papers really. All of them are in excellent condition - no highlighting, notes or anything. They're all decent books that I passed my old Part 1 and new Paper 3 /CASC with! All are the most recent editions. Any that I don't sell, I'll put on Ebay/Amazon etc. Buyer to pay postage. I live in west London. Contact me over Superego (PM) if you're interested. I can then send my contact details so we can organise things & chat if needed. **I'll consider any reasonable offer - don't mind selling them all in one deal or splitting them** 1. 800 Individual Statement Questions for the MRCPsych (Paperback) Author(s): Maju Mathews ISBN: 978-1853155055 2. 8. As a CT3 I pay £60 a year to MPS. £200 as a FTSTA?!
  9. I know of at least 2 people that have received a forensic offer.
  10. Having spoken to the folks at the deanery during my interview - not all the posts start at the time anyway. They said that your placement would depend on your ranking, preferences and the length of notice that you need to give in your present job. So basically I'm going to give my notice as soon as the London deanery confirm a specific date and location. Hope this helps.
  11. Any idea Will it be today or ,.,.,., thanks They said that they had 'an organisational nightmare' in trying to send all the offers together but were trying their best to do it. I'm pretty sure there'll be even offers after the initial ones as I spoke to a few people in my interview that had 2 (or 3!) interviews.
  12. Hehe I just spoke to somebody at the London deanery and they confirmed that they're trying to release all the sub-speciality offers at the same time so people who are lucky enough to get 2 offers can make a decision. So don't give up...the fat lady hasn't sung yet! :
  13. General Adult St4 London offers are out - got email at 14:24 Good luck to everybody.
  14. BIIIGGGG commitment folks!!! I propose a nice perm
  15. I've had same answer, except, they are all Run through and NO LATS Well that's even better news! Also to clarify for the people that contacted me - that was 17 posts in GA only. No idea about other sub-specialities. Also they said that if I hadn't heard in a week's time, then I should contact them.
