well done to everyone who passed their part 2

time to rake in the money huh???

sorry and better luck next time to those who did not.

a pass rate of over 49% is pretty high is it not ?

(correct me if i am wrong...)

maybe the college is not that bad after all...

p.s

before you guys forget, can you tell us what was most useful for your revision???

of course this can wait till you're off cloud nine!

The numbers post mortem

501 candidates with 1 disqualification, so 500 at the start.

After written, 386 passed, 114 failed and a 77% pass rate.

With clinical results, 246 passed, with another 140 failed, a 63% pass rate for the clinical.

Looking at the failed numbers more closely 23% of those that started failed on the written and another 28% (me in that 140) fell at the second hurdle. I guess that that really is the higher hurdle.

ME PASSED TOO! THANK GOD FOR THAT.

NOW FACED WITH A DILEMMA : SHOULD I GO AHEAD WITH THE STAFF GRADE JOB ( ORIGINALY THOUGHT WILL NEVER GET THE EXAM, SO APPLIED FOR SG JOBS LIKE MAD!) & TAKE LIFE AT A SLOW PACE FOR THE NEXT FEW MONTHS OR SHOULD I START APPLYING FOR SPECIALIST REG TRAINING ? NEED EXPERT OPINION FROM ALL U GUYS , OF THE PROS & CONS OF EACH OPTION.

AM I THE ONLY ONE FACING THIS DILEMMA ??

BY THE WAY , ARE SPR JOBS ADVERTISED THRU'OUT THE YEAR , OR JUST BI-ANNUALLY , LIKE SHO JOBS??

I passed too!! What a relief. Sorry to all you guys who didn't make it.

I also got word on friday about an SPR post, so double the celebrations. Bit worried as no easy year post mrcpsych, straight into higher training.  I might have to do some research or something as i feel too young to become a consultant, and i'm certaintly not ready for it!!

Party on dudes!

I can't believe I passed!! I was visiting my parents and had no internet access so my husband phoned up for me...In a funny way I am now glad that I failed the first time -- it really showed me just how RANDOM the exam is -- I really don't think I was that much better in the clinicals the second time around although it was PMP's i failed on and now, thank god they are standardized and much fairer (I got 3 out of 4 as FORENSIC 1st time)

I still hope to get into the college and change things from within -- make the written results valid for a period of time and not have to keep revisiting it once you have passed. But I guess I will need to get SpR jobs and stuff 1st!

Congrats to all who passed and commisserations to those who didn't and good luck for the autumn -- don't let the bastards get you down!! ::)
