Camping..? Anyone..?

11 posts in this topic

What are the essential things (or guides) for a good (maybe even GREAT) easy camping trip in UK? Anyone tried caravans? What sites/types are good? Where are the best places? i wont ask about weather cause I can see a few laughs> Apart from Glastonbury, any gems?

Well, I dislike Camping. I always think to myself (What's the point in Camping if you can afford a nice hotel) Public toilets, noisy campers sitting next to you, noisy children etc.

But I must say that I do find static caravans more enjoyable, and some of them have very high standards and all up to date equipment such as flat TV, fridge, ensuit, bathroom etc.

There are so many sites where you can rent a static Caravan for the weekend or a few weeks. It all depends where you want to go to.

Get a tent. Or a campervan.

Go to a site with pitches. They're pretty cheap around 10 quid a night.

Get a site with electric plug points too.

There are a gazillion sites all across the UK and Europe.

The world is your oyster.

Get yourself a T25 before they become too expensive!!

PS camping along the North Norfolk coast should be on everyones' to do list

We've just bought a tent (a ridiculously big 6-person tent just for 2 of us) and I can't wait to try it out... just think we may have missed the decent UK weather!

I think join the caravanning club. They send you a good guide book so that you can find what suits you best and you can get discounts on your holiday as well
