Thanks, very grateful for your help. Shall repay it tomorrow, I am typing on my I phone so it is quite difficult to discuss, but most stations seem to be usual, except the LD one, if I have any thoughts will come back to share. Good luck.

Agree with Kingdoner regarding the Paraphrenia station....Whether you persuade her or not, if you go into the next station and say that you got her consent to speak to him no one will ever find out.

It looks like most of the station were ones known frm before with twists of course.

Explore the reasons behind not giving consent. Brother might ask you if she consented or not !!

Should you just assess her capacity to consent to that?

Hi, just wanted to know what was the task in the paraphrenia station, was it the usual from the Oxford notes or was it a capacity assessment station.

What was required in the learning disability station

Thanks Afterlife you are very helpful ... as usual.

Is it alright for you to give details about yesterday's stations, particularly Paraphrenia (about consent & other issues); LD explanation & about any twists in the alcohol Cognitive examination.

Thanks again !!!

Thanks Babu

I was not a part of yesterday's examination but what I know is that

Paraphrenia came as standard old age psychosis with hallucinations and delusions and Mx included standard admission, MDT involvement and organic work up with medications and Psychoeducation.

LD and Cipramil + Blood tests - I have little idea. Treat them as real LD people.

Alcohol Cognitive examination includes Delusions, hallucinations, Orientation, Immediate recall, STM, LTM, 7 item address, digit span and confabulation. Check for intention tremors in the end if time permits. May be I am wrong.

"LD and Cipramil + Blood tests - I have little idea. Treat them as real LD people."

They were real LD people! Either Down's or other - mine was other and either forgot her lines alot or I just did badly as she spent most of the time staring at me blankly after asking me if I was married? Station also had two laminated A4 sheets on the floor (helpfully pointed out to me by the examiner) one with a picture of citalopram box and other had two pictures of a 30 year old male having their blood taken. Very close to the end told me she couldn't read and wanted her mother with her when having blood taken.

Can't remember exactly what instructions said as (as usual) was far too much to read in 1 minute. A long list of depressive symptoms and that your consultant had started them on citalopram 10mg and mentioned blood tests.

Thanks a lot Sebhen

Yes I heard that there were real individuals with Down's syndrome.
