Applying to restore GMC licence after career break

1 post in this topic

Hi guys, I'm not a psych specialist but an SHO level Dr that spent a couple of years locuming and was wondering if anyone had experience applying to restore their GMC licence. Would really appreciate if anyone can shed some light on this for me.

I have read the GMC guidance and called them up to discuss (basically they just said submit the application) but was wondering if anyone would be kind enough to share their experience with me.

Basically - I'm a UK Medical school graduate, completed F1&2 and locumed for a few years in A&E following F2. Due to family/personal reasons I've spent 2 years living abroad with family, where I've not been practicing medicine. Planning to return to UK and want to get my GMC licence restored. Wondering whether you had to do a clinical attachment or courses prior to getting your licence back? Did anyone get flat out rejected by GMC?

Please send me a private message if you have any info on this topic. Many thanks to all!
