the questions were

1. dual diagnosis is a valid diagnostic category and specialist services should be made avilable for it. discuss this statement critically with reference to schizophrenia.

2. all the patients with medically unexplained symptoms should recieve psychiatric evaluation. discuss this statement critically with reference to chronic fatigue syndrome.

3. cognitive behaviour therapy is the only form of psychological treatment for patients with depression and should be made avilable to all. dicsuss critically.

I am not fully sure of the exact wordings but they were something like these only.

I guess most of the people did the first one and remaining the third. did not come across anyone doing the second one in edinburgh.

Have to agree, dual diagnosis was a relief. I think most people had prep-ed that essay topic.

Plus it was one of the manchester essay answers in february.

At least we know we don't have to revise any drugs and alcohol (or CBT) for the essay in the autumn...

Can anyone tell me that in teh essay of dual diagnosis how much emphasis had to be laid on the validity of the concept of dual diagnosis and how much on the requriement of specialist and separate services.
