Dear drphalaksh, annastephen and bhushanvaidya. Thank you

I have just found out that Dantrolene is an inhibitor of Ca(2+)release from intracellular stores.

The 1% japaneese and the 10% British children question, i understand is from the kapalan and Saddock (Birmingham Course) but i cant really find the answer in K & S.

I agree the answer for Wernicke's, the 'may be ' aspect.

You have help me understand the stomatostatin in Alzheimers for good and also the SO supply by the fourth cranial nerve aspect

Thank you

Agree question is False for additional reasons

Although they are conducted differently;

BDI is subjectively scored

Hamiton Rating Scale for Depression is objectively scored...

They are also constructed differently and its that which affects the scores;

BDI rates 21 items

Hamilton rates 10 items

9. NMDA users show hypo osmolality - This should be MDMA (ecstasy) - True

This should specify serum osmolality because urine osmolality is high.

The occurrence of hyponatremia after MDMA use is multifactorial, stemming from increased water intake, excessive sweating with physical exertion, and the release of vasopressin leading to the syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH). In severe cases of hyponatremia, patients can develop cerebral edema with subsequent seizures and, possibly, coma. These patients invariably show high urine osmolarity and continued sodium excretion despite low serum osmolality and hyponatremia, which is consistent with the criteria for diagnosis of SIADH.

Hi Seven,

Re: The 1% japaneese and the 10% British children question, i understand is from the kapalan and Saddock (Birmingham Course) but i cant really find the answer in K & S.

I wud rather go by Goodman & Scott (p.193) and say Prevalence of SRD is 3-10% and the same for UK, USA, China and Japan.  Aware of what they say in B'ham course but wud stick with G&S.
