The results of a survival analysis become less reliable the longer the intervals in censored observations

There is a regression to the mean of IQ in successive generations

Means taken from large samples of a skewed distribution approximate to a normal distribution

HAMD is more sensitive for change than MADRS

Logistic regression is mostly done by the least squares method

Jaspers is associated with the hierarchical classification of disease

The first National Psychiatric Morbidity study used Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALY)

Sensitivity to sunlight is associated with acute

intermittent porphyria

R2 usually increases if a further independent variable is added

In epidemiology ‘caseness’ can be correctly identified with disease

Jasper's is associated with the hierarchical classification of disease

Standard error varies with the size of the population.

TRUE

HAMD is more sensitive for change than MADRS

FALSE - MADRS is more sensitive to change

intermittent porphyria

FALSE manchester

Standard error varies with the size of the population.

FALSE - it varies with the size of the sample, not the pop'n.

Standard error varies with the size of the population.  ?T IF POPULATION MEANS SAMPLE SIZE...

just to clarify, population in statistics is N

Standard error, is used for estimating how close the mean of the sample is to the mean of the population (or something like that)

Normally the population will be too big, so that it would not be feasable to use it also as a sample.

Say for example:

you want to find the prevalence of depression in the UK,

u could check everyone - that would be n=N (you'll need good drug company funding as it will be very expensive ;))

Or u could choose a sample n and then u could use inferential stats to estimate the prevalence for N (the whole pop in UK)

Hope this helps :-/
