9 posts in this topic

Feeling completely overwhelmed by the prospect of sitting part 2 this september.  Is any one else feeling this way? :-[

Yes! I think you'd be sectionable if you did't.

It's loads more to learn than for the part one, isn't it?

However, still a couple of months to go; so time to really knuckle down to it.

If only the weather wasn't so nice...!

Good luck!

Yes it seems definately like that!

suppose it's not possible to really finish revising for it, it''s like you're revising and it comes along and interrupts you!

The heat is frying my brain! It's hard sitting in.

Maybe this should be a revision diary/motivation thread??! 8-)

I think that would involve the stages of change model...

Precontemplation: 'I feel sorry for everyone who had to sit Part 2 in the spring.'

Contemplation: 'Oh hell, I'm going to have to sit Part 2 in the Autumn.'

Preparation: 'I'm going to buy every single book off Amazon.'

Action: 'I have highlighted an entire page of a textbook'

Maintenance: 'I have highlighted all of the pages in my textbook!'

Relapse: 'Oh, the cricket is on TV. Maybe I'll just watch it for a half hour...'

Chris, I hope you didn't stay in 'Relapse' mode and managed to come back into the 'Action/Maintenance' stages. ;)

Just under four weeks to go... keep going!

I'm off to highlight a few more pages...

Cheers Oreta for the encouragement. Keep on highlighting!

(Un)Fortunately I've moved on to a more psychodynamic approach to study avoidance...

Devaluation - the exam doesn't count for much these days anyway...

Idealization - everyone else is so much better than me at this anyway...

Splitting - All revision is rubbish, except neuroanatomy which is brilliant...

Projection - I'm not revising because you all don't want me to!

Sublimation - Maybe instead of revising I'll go for a jog...

Humour - Exams? Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha!

Denial - Exams? What exams? I don't have any exams.

Displacement - this stupid computer is really beginning to annoy me...

Rationalisation - by contributing to a forum, I'm essentially going over things that I would do in revision, so its as good as revising really.

Regression - this whole exam thing is so unfair and you can't make me do it. I won't, I won't, I won't.

Magical undoing - If I do 3 more posts in the next 30 minutes then everything will be OK again.

Somatisation - all this typing is giving me a headache. Maybe I'll go and lie down for a while.....!

Good luck everyone, not long to go! Keep up the hard work. ;)

Chris it seems that you can easily pass your part 2 exam as you know your psychology inside out!

I think being good at guessing is the best way to ensure passing the part two!

Mind you I'm only guessing at that too!
