Is anyone aware of any concerns/contraindications to pregnant doctors giving ECT?

it is the first I hear of this; I would be interested to find out...?

anyone interested enough to google it?

or medline it?

I couldn't imagine why there would be. You might argue that standing up increases risk of varicose veins, if anything but that would be really stretching it!!!

there is no absolute contra indication for even a pregnant woman receiving ECT as far as i can recall.

a doctor administering ECT is exposed to nothing harmful. or am i wrong? there is no radiation or microwaves or radiowaves involved so where is the risk?

if there are concerns, please talk to your defense union about this and they can guide you or politely ask your SHO rep to leave you out of the ECT rota in favour for doing something else.

if i am wrong,please correct me so that i can update myself. cheers

i agree with u paranth...

there is no contraindication to pregnant doctors giving ECT...

and varicose veins... seriously stretching it too much..
