:o i have been trying to recollect the name of the law that stands applicable in cases of medical negligence which states, that (or something like) an act will not be considered negligent if a majority of peers agree that they would have acted similarly under similarly disposed circumstances.

any help will be very much appreciated.

Its Bolam's principle. You should find the details in the textbook pf psychiatry by Kaplan and Saddock. I think the 6th edition but the new one should have it as well
