Hi friends,

mother brings to you a child of 3 with repititve behaviour, not interested in playing in groups etc In this scenario we will see the child and the parents and take history from parents but what about the child,we will observe and regarding the interview with the child what would we tell examiners?

Hi bless

what do you mean by interviewing the child. if he is three I think I will follow what you said about interveing the mother and observation ::)

You would observe how the child interacts with the parent and yourself, whether they play normally with the toys in your office, how their eye contact is, you could do tests to ensure they are at the right developmental milestones for their age, see how their speech is, look for any abnormal movements, look for dysmophic features.

3 year olds will be able to interact with you and even answer questions.

Obviously the question is leading towards autism with the vignette.
