Hello

I am starting an audit soon on the above subject, among rehab service. I am aware of the potential size of the project, but would appreciate ideas , advice, references available from people who have been involved with this topic.

Thanks

Have a look at the Maudsley Guidelines on this topic. You might be able to draw up ypur audit quetionnaire/tool based on the section that deals with it.

I suppose you could measure the current practice of physical stuff against set standards (eg:TFTs 6 monthly etc. as in the Maudsley Guidelines )..identify shortcomings (usually the case)..then prepare a protocol as part of the recommendations... try to implement them ..and yes do not forget to set up a reaudit afterf 6 months/1 year.

Reference...the one I suggested elsewhere..APT ? March 2005 (An article on physical examination in psychiatry...there is an impressive short and quick examination of the CNS / eliciting EPSE )
