hi there!

only your basic pay gets protected thats right.

are you year 7 |SHo or year 4? if you want to know what your pay scale is likely to be when becoming a SPr, check with the pay deal from BMA you will know.

you will move to the next higher basic pay to what you are on now.for eg-

if your basic is 32,800p.a, when you become a Spr,your basic can not be dropped to 32,300 but has to go up one notch to 34,500,see where you stand in that scale and you would know.hoep that was helpful.cheers

Just to add to paranth.s response,on the basis that you have not done any SHP jobs prior tio these 7 jobs, you seems to be on year 3 payscale.

If you are nearing the increment date[which will specified in the payslip]then the chances are you will get 32k+ if u choose SG and any banding if u do oncalls.

SpR post at this point might get 30+ and banding but if u wait for increment then u will go on 31+

need more? follow this link http://www.bmjcareers.com/pdf/doctorspay.pdf

njoy..

Dear all,

In certain trusts, they employ educational staff grades. Orginally these were setup for people who needed futher attempts at their part 2s. Now most people do it for pay protection.

The salary is around 42k with no-oncalls. Since basic pay is protected, when you go for SPR jobs, instead of getting 30k plus banding, you will get 42k plus banding. Brill eh? A move to London is in the pipe-line methinks...
