Hi

I'll be completing 36months of training by the end of this posting.

do i still need to be in training or employment to take the part-2 in september.

i'm thinking of a break with some locum work and concentrate on the old style exams.

i don't hope to pass this time.

thanks

if you're in a training post at the time of the application you're ok if i remember the rules correctly.  they're on the college website.  go have a look (i haven't reread them tonight, but i'm sure it works out something like that - if it's not clear email the exams dept and ask them). http://www.rcpsych.ac.uk/pdf/RegulationsJune2006.pdf

Hi

My understanding was that you required 30 months for Part 2 (or is it 36?).  Also, you can take your exams following this. If, unfortunately you are not successful, you are allowed to resit the exam a second time (in the next 6 months) even if not in a training post.

However to take the exam after that, one has to be in a training post or a SAS post which was approved by the college (approval should be obtained before or soon after starting the post, not just before the exam and is not that difficult).

As J suggested, the college examinations dept would be the best place to check with.

Hope it goes well

M
