How much would it cost to do PG

14 posts in this topic

Being in the current situation and with no qualification beyond MBBS...along with other thoughts ,there is one when I wonder how much would it cost to Get a post graduate degree in india???

I know one of my senior did Post Graduation in Radiology paying a hefty sum of25-30 lakhs ( from somewhere in Gujarat)

Another senior payed 30 lakhs or so for a PG seat in Radiology in PGI chandigarh.

A colleague of mine, I heard is doing Diploma in Obs/Gynae from Maharashtra paying 7-8 lakhs. Has got husband's hospital to work further though.

I myself am not aware of how these things work... nor do I have such spare money to squander.....but would be nice to know these avenues as well..........just in case!

Does anybody know how much would it cost for different specialities and how much it is worth...and would you still have to study for it????? :D

Yeah... officially sands...

I remember... a year before we had appeared for entrance, a batch of medics and paeds residents were thrown out, because they were not upto the standards...

they held an enquiry and found that the then dean... (i wont name him... he is a great stalwart psychiatrist...) was guilty of accepting bribes and was supended...

I think there are loads of places in India to do PG, but i think u hv to pay well over 30 lakhs to get into a better speciality and a better institute.

Try Manipal, if thats the correct spelling

Cheers

Hi

talked to a surgeon who was with me in the queue at the Indian High Commission.

He's a practicing surgeon in UK and India.

he told me that the running rate for Post gartuate seats in Sri ramachandra Medical college in chennai is at all time high.

Rs 100,00000 for Radiology.

Surgery, Paeds and O&G in the range of Rs 75,00000 to Rs 90,00000.

MBBS has become Rs 7000000 plus. :o :o :o
