End of rotation pandemics

6 posts in this topic

I am on call at the moment. I shouldn't be on call, I should be winding down for the weekend, but I am on call because of the eight Doctors at this hospital

Three are off sick. (Including the person who should be on call)

Three have managed to somehow get the day off.

Leaving me and a locum who is covering for someone else off sick.

Is anyone else having to put up with this?

I get the impression that people just can't be arsed any more.  :D

agree

most ppl can't be arsed anymore... who can really blame them

in my area, we have had 3 resignations in the last 6 months from 10 sho's , one on long term sick for nearly the whole 6 months, and now many are off on a/leave sick still...

i know most have dealt with the way we have been treated with dignity and toiled on for the patients, but how can they expect us to be motivated with so many futures flushed away down the NHS toilet.

I'm sure pandemics will continue in these last few weeks...

hope u at least getting locum rate cmo...otherwise, you may have to develop a headache suddenly ;)

It is quite similar in my side as well.

Many on annual leaves.

Yep same here. I'm locuming to cover an FY2 shift! Which is doubly amusing since I covered an SpR locum earlier in the week! I suspect it will only get worse as the month goes on... Still for those of us who need the extra cash, it's not such a bad thing.

Well i'm using over 50% of my annual leave this month alone, as are my colleagues. We're fairing ok sickness-wise in our rota but there's bags of locums going in the trust and i'm trying to cash in too. I can still be arsed but then I'm staying put, can understand others having motivation issues.
