claiming removal expenses

dear all,

i was hoping if people could guide me in this.

i am ftsta and recently asked for my removal expenses.

i was told that I am on FTSTA so will not be paid.

earlier even when people had six months posts they were paid.

anyone???

You should check your trust's policy on relocation expenses. I think a generic policy was put out ? on the MMC website. You should ask the trust for their policy, see if you think you are elligible under their terms and continue with the submission for expenses if you are, outline in writing to them how you feel you meet the criteria and ask for the full amount of your removals claim. If they still refuse to pay then you would need to go to the BMA, or an employment lawyer (may be free if your home insurance has legal expenses on it) to get them to sort it out for you.

All practitioners in training grades, who are required:

• to relocate in the interests of the service, or

• to further their training to enable them to take up their appointment, or

• who are given approval for a subsequent move during their employment, or

• when a change is made to the base place of work (generally by the deanery when on

a rotation),

are normally eligible to claim expenses for removals.
