47 posts in this topic

As suggested by Animal in another post I thought that some BOF can be posted here which maybe relevant to Part 1.

Psychopharmocology

In the pharmacokinetics of psychotropic medications all of the following are true except

A) Psychotropics are easily absorbed from the gut because they are lipophilic

B) Psychotropics are highly ionised at physiological pH values

C) Psychotropics are mainly metabolized in the liver

D) Psychotropics are excreted mainly in the kidneys

E) Psychotropics produce their therapeutic effects they should reach the brain in adequate amounts

(Answer Ref: OTP 5th edition; page 520)

Phew! this takes time and helps with a bit of reading.

I hope this question make some sense.

Any comments appreciated to modify it.

Tough decision.

Depends on the hard work you put in.

I would love to take both papers too.

Do they let you take both at the same time? What happens if you pass paper 2, but fail paper 1?

Definitely tougher theory papers ahead.

The chance of getting an answer right in BOF is 20% as against the 50% chance in the ISQ's.

Paper 2 has taken up some portions from the previous MRCPsych Part 2 theory.

So I don't think it is that easy, but the main consolation is the absence of the OSCE's.
