not an expert on the field but is it not too late for parent training in a 17 yr old. Sorry no references just guessing...

not an expert on the field but is it not too late for parent training in a 17 yr old.  Sorry no references just guessing...

I guess training the parents in martial arts might help... :)

Why not school phobia or trauncy? any reference on this please? in course notes the answer is truancy..any comments?

depression for the first ans. b/c

child aged 15 yrs. therefore, less likely to be school phobia as that occurs when child starting school at age 3-4 or age 11 when changing to secondary school.

and trauncy least possible as child not purposly missing school and no other risk factors or antisocial disorder except low performance in school.

Depression is important cause of school refusal in teenagers and separation anxiety is the commonest diagnosis among younger children who refuse school.

truants stay away from school to engage in alternative activities without parental permission. truants spend the day in groups, and their parents are unaware of their whereabouts.
