Celebrating 18 years of Superego Cafe   19/04/17

Celebrating 18 years of Superego Cafe It started in 2000 with Superego Cafe, the website for trainee psychiatrists and developed into revision courses for the MRCPsych exams, continuing professional development and critical appraisal. In 2013 a new subsidiary, The Critical Appraisal Company, was launched to meet the demand for our unique training approach in healthcare organisations and the pharmaceutical industry, not just in the UK but also across the rest of Europe, the Middle East and Australasia. Dr Gurpal Gosall was the Webmaster, Superego Cafe's MRCPsych Forum at PsychClub.com He set up and ran this website, the premier online resource for MRCPsych exam candidates. The site has been favourably reviewed by the British Medical Journal and Hospital Doctor magazine. Gurpal was a Consultant General Adult Psychiatrist at the Royal Blackburn Hospital and also the Deputy Medical Director and Chief Clinical Information Officer for Lancashire Care NHS Foundation Trust. Educated at Girton College, Cambridge, Gurpal undertook his specialist training in Psychiatry in the North West of England. Computing, programming and design had been interests of his since the days of the ZX Spectrum and BBC home computers in the 1980s. He pursued his passion for computers and got involved into web design and desktop publishing. Combined with his interests in education, he developed an international reputation for providing innovative and top quality training materials in mental health and evidence-based medicine. Gurpal had a commitment to the education of fellow doctors and his website will continue to mark his legacy. New online material will be launched later this year on the Superegocafe.com website and his discussion forum will continue to be the hub for psychiatrists to meet and share ideas. Thank you for your continued support.
